NEED CIRCUIT HELP!

You don't have to but since you were going to make it for the other diode I figured that's what you wanted to use.

and i should use the DDL driver with my new diode from stonetek?

Dylan - whatever you decide to use as a driver - make sure you USE ONE ! ;) I have just answered two emails from some upset folks that used my diodes in a freaking MAGLITE again - and were wondering why they didn't work. That is why I have the "all encompassing" agreement that everyone has to agree to before shopping :(
the LM317 circuit will do wonderfully - if you bought the kit from me, I can ship the smaller LM317 if you wish - I think you only ordered the diode though - please correct me if I am wrong - your order will ship tomorrow, by the way :)

wonderful stonetek. and also i will definitly be buying from you again just for the record. my buddy thought that how i am building a laser was so cool he asked me to make him one. he wants to burn stuff too. ;D

yes i only bought the diode. i was wondering though what i should have my current set at if im using your diode?

300mA is a good current for those diodes, some may say a little more but you should be set at 300mA.

Build the DDL driver and use 2 10 ohm resistors in parallel, that should drive the diode at 250mA and it should put out around 170mW.
If you want more power then get a 4 ohm resistor, (or a combination of resistors that give you a total of 4 ohms) that should drive the diode at 312mA and it should put out around 200mW.

Its mAh rating is too low so it won't be able to power your laser for a long time. Use either 6 AAs, 6 NIMHs, or 2 rechargeable CR123 batteries.
