First time poster, but I mostly know how these lasers work: Does anyone know a good and cheap supplier for BH08 Sleds? I plan on using the Kryton Groove for a barrel, a driver I haven't decided on (suggestions), and a custom heatsink. Any suggestions?

EDIT: BH08 sled or diode, and I have not decided on the host.

Wait, do you have a kryton groove cause there isn't anyone selling them anymore... also if you do have a kryton groove the only option to get is the flexdrive which is a boost driver which can boost the current going to your diode.. rckstr wouldn't work because the kryton groove won't supply enough.. if you do have the kryton groove it is the heatsink because you press the diode into it.. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. I'm not the type of person to say just use the search button i can actually answer your question

I wasn't referring to anyone here.. i was just referring to people who are going to post and say "use the search button"
 
So are you saying that using the [Search] button is not a good thing for noobs
to do or perhaps the [Search] button should be avoided...:thinking:

@ laserbee: I have searched the forums nonstop for the past few days, including the BST section. thanks through
@OutlawZ: although I have used the search button ("Kryton Groove" for keywords) those results did not come up (I did not feel like reading the 40 page+ threads, only the first and last few posts). Thanks for the driver information through
@prototype: I should have been clearer, I am looking for a diode or a sled for an 8x drive. Thanks for the link though
 
The only way of getting an 8X Blu-Ray LD or Sled at the present time
is to buy a working Drive and harvest the Laser Diode...

Yeah, no one is selling kryton grooves right now.. you won't be able to find it anywhere else because this is a custom host and he won't be making anymore anytime soon.. also you have to buy the whole thing no one sells the sleds.. or diode.. I would settle for a 6x GGW if i were you if you still want a high powered blu-ray

No i'm just saying that if they already have looked around the forums there's no point in saying look again
