Hello

I just found on ebay 2 laser of 100mw++ red laser
the laser are looking like this

First

Second

They are arround at same price (15usd~), do you think those laser have driver
include ?They have a small heatsink but ..., on the spec the working voltage is 3.2
to 5.5v, will it be safe to use them with a 18650 battery ?

Thanks
Regard
sorry for my english ...

There's almost definitely a driver inside the module. If the specs are true, you could use ONE 18650 or other Lithium cell (3.7/4.2 volts).

Ok thank you very much , for the price if the driver is inclue then ill buy one

The Current: <300mA is it still safe for the 18650 bttery

Current is safe. The driver controls that part of it, and it'd have to be very big to hurt the battery.

Ok thank you , battery is not the matter i wouldnt burn the laser diode itself xD

i have a question , i found a 300mw laser diode really cheap and i would like to put it in a cheap laser pen with driver like 5mw for example is it safe to do or i should not do that ?

You can drive some diodes very low compared to their rating, and it's not dangerous. I wouldn't expect a 300mW diode to work at a 5mW power level though.

Ok thank you i will try to make a lm317 driver then
