Hey I've been looking at picking up a class 4 laser. I was wondering... What colors go the farthest and what colors will burn the best... Is it kinda one or the other or is there a certain nm that would be good for burning and also for shining into the night sky... Or do certain colors serve 1 purpose best? Any feed back would be appreciated.
 





520nm would be brightest....
450nm is use for burning due to putting out a lot of power!!
 
Yes I get this but... How can I put it.... If I had a 200mw 520nm laser and I wanted the same brightness but at 450mw how many mw would I need?
 
2000mw i assume. since the ration of green to blue is 10:1 in our retina so 1 mW of green=10mW of blue and therefore 200mw of green= 2000mw of blue.
 
Ohh wow... What a difference... Is it the same way backwards? Would a blue laser burn 10× better then a green with equal mw?

Well some people argue that 1W 405nm is the perfect burner. We gotta get someone who has both a 1W 405 and one of the newer 06E at almost 8Ws and compare them.

No, but blue will burn faster due to higher electron volt

yep the 1W 405nm is the best burner because it is a single mode so the beam stay needle thin at the distance while blue diverges rapidly...
