I have a dead green laser the crystal went bad...

is it possible to take apart a DVD player or another optical drive device, and somehow use that laser; and transplant it into the body of my old green?

No... because you will need an 808nm IR Laser and you will
not find 808nm IR lasers in DVD players or another optical
drive device. They use other Wavelengths of Lasers.
