My white breathelizer glows

I notice that when I turn on the laser pointing at a piece of paper, the blue glows makes my white t-shirt and white pads of my 3m breathelizer glow blueish.

This does bothers me since I can see the blue glow under my goggles (right under my eyes after all) . I wonder if this is bad for my eyes (laser blue bleeding through breathelizer?). 2W 445nm is not known to be very safe and I am taking as much precaution as possible to avoid any eye issue.

The laser is approximately 7 feet away pointing down to the ground with some piece of white letter size paper I am cutting stuff on.

No, secondary glow of objects caused by already diffuse reflection is safe.
Just don't try to watch focused dot .. anything which gives you afterimages is stressing it.
And of course, you wear goggles to prevent ACCIDENTAL hit. Problem with accidents is they are unplanned, and thus hard to prevent.

Thank you for the reply. I don't want this light bleeds to happen. I am thinking of installing a straight tube connecting from my laser housing to the paper. What material should this tube be in? I assume something that a 2W 445nm cannot burn and release obnoxious gas, perhaps black anodized aluminum?

Also, I want this tube to be more like a y-tube so I can install a vacuum to one of the end to suck out fume coming up. Would anyone know where to get one such Y-connector tube thing? Or even what it is called would be great.

It's fluorescence. 445 is generally close enough to UV to make some objects fluoresce, although it's far less of an effect than 405 which fluoresces objects almost like a blacklight. The fluorescence won't harm you, but can itself be quite bright, especially if the VLT of your safety goggles is high.

If you burn plastics you may release some harmful gases, I've done it before with the windows open, bit of a stink but as long as you're not doing it daily you'll be fine.
