Well as my second build a chose a c6 bundle from survival lasers and a m140 diode module from dtr
[/IMG] this is starting to get everything ready, it's here I noticed the first problem ( diode module has a full back not half back) but we chose to move on
[/IMG] this is soldering the brass ring to the battery board ( should have noticed a problem here but didn't brass ring upside down)
[/IMG] Ooooops pushed the driver board in the pill and it didn't go in straight because the brass ring was upside down it is tapered for a reason ( now I know) what to do??, time to get the dermal out and see if we can salvage this
[/IMG]Ok clean up enough I think? ( but unknown at this time is the driver board is to far in the pill positive wont touch the contact board)
[/IMG]so I proceed to tin the wires
[/IMG]on the diode side also
[/IMG]Oooops forgot the shrink tube on the ground wire lets do that again
[/IMG] better.
[/IMG]So I proceed to thermo compound the module and tighten it in the heat sink
[/IMG] Put it all back together put batteries in push the button and NOTHING!! Booo!!
[/IMG] Figure out the positive isn't touching the contact board so I try to build up the positive part of the board
[/IMG] after a few tries I build up enough, I think?? So I put everything back together and???
[/IMG] Bingo!! But that's the hard way to build a laser, but I learned what not to do!
