Hello guys,
I want to introduce my new laser's collection item - 473nm laser pointer.
This is very rare to find thing like this on local auction portal, especially in European domain but some time it happens :yh:

I hope it's good bargain:
- used but like a new
- ϕ180x25mm aluminium tube with "sexy" cyan strip
- DPSS 473nm
- TEM01
- divergency 0.9mrad (calculated by pseudonomen137's calculator)
- power around 18-20mW with 37mW peak (measured by my dirty LPM)
- 1x18650 baterie with charger
- price $140 (converted form CZK)

It's history is unknown but from some chinesse factory. The man who sold it says he bought it in 2008 with emphasis to long duty cycle and needed it "for pointing" for thermal imaging (i don't know why expensive blue and not green???).

Other thing is TEM01 mode. When started it is in TEM00 and after 30sec has been changing to TEM01... but i think it is not such a big disadvantage for LP.

When i saw its color for the first time i was a bit disapointed because of there weren't big color's difference against 450nm LP - it seems to me for the first look (when i compare 532 vs. 543nm i feel bigger difference) So although it was not love for the first look for the second it already is

Sum up:
Pros: price, price, price..., color, design, easy using
Cons: unknown origin, TEM01, soft trigger, no lock

Regards,
Beam

Btw. be patient with my Czenglish, please...

Good review. 473nm blue is a nice color and $140 is a bargain.

the 473 blue from that pointer is the closest you can get to the beautiful 488nm line of an argon. The upside it, it runs off a battery, has no fans and wont electrocute you. The downside is, it wont heat the room at the same time while providing the pretty photons :P

You are right :D color is beutiful and this is more usefull for every day use.
I hope the time of 488 nm direct diode will come in near future...
(Anyway, to own multiline argon laser is my secret wish... :shhh: )

Nice deal you got, is there any indication who the manufacturer was?

Only this "warranty sign" is there (except warning label) May be somebody recognize manufacturer...

I've seen this host back around 2009 when I went looking for my first 473, it was sold by off-brand crap chinese companies... something makes me think it was one of BOBLasers products from a while ago. Don't take my word on it as true though, I'll do some research tonight.

I guess too. Although I have one old LP from BOB's and the case/body is more crappy. This is made more precisely...
Anyway, be from anywhere, just makes me happy :D
Thanks,
Beam

sorry to say, but I could not find this ANYWHERE on the internet. I've seen very very similar, but it's as minimal as lacking the blue ring or the grooves....

It looks like the one Warn lasers and Elite lasers used to sell.

Btw. Here is one like this... Finally doesn't matter who manufacturer is i'm glad i have this... thanks.

The design on alibaba is the one I meant without the grooves... it's probably the same manufacturer, but you never know.

You have quite a wavelength collection, where'd you ever come across a 7mW green HeNe?
