My first stupied mistake with laser

I have 2 pairs of glasses, one for red laser, one for green laser. Lastnight I was using my Green laser, with glasses, then took a few minutes to register, hey this seems very bright when I was burning.

Took the glasses off and to my horror I had accually put on my glasses that are for my red laser, instead of the green laser glasses?

Anyone else done this stuiped thing?

It was much brighter and much more glare but hopefully did not appear to do any eye damage?

Not for me, usually because the goggles made for one wavelength seem to be the color of the other (like bluish for red lasers, reddish for green). Though that isn't necessarily true for the multiwave ones I got. Fortunately, those can protect somewhat for both wavelengths, though not quite good enough for red (up to 150mW is fine).

The danger with goggles is that they make everything darker, so your pupils dilate and more light can enter them, especially at the wrong wavelength. It's probably the real reason why the IR in a green laser can be dangerous, because you think you're safe, but the invisible light is still entering your eyes. As long as you weren't reflecting the beam off a specular surface, your eyes should be okay. Good thing you caught it though.

have you ever thought about looking into multi spectrum goggles?

it may save you from a very expensive mistake

Try putting a little paint on the glass edges, red for red laser, and green for green laser.  This will help visually detect which glasses your picking up.

Color tape will work as well.
