My first spirograph [2 motor, with reverse direction]

Contents:

• 2 motors, one small and one even smaller, with dichromatic mirrors scrapped from perfectly good DVD burners
• 2 wire wound potmeters, 60 Ohm and 100 Ohm, soldered in parallell, not series, with the motors and supply voltage
• 47u cap for buffering
• 3p CO switch for reversing smallest motor
• laser of course

Everything is powered by 4.5V.

One mirror is missing, I had to reglue it three times because it kept falling off.

what difference in patterns can inverting the polarity of one motor create? (example or something, just to know)

I switch the polarity exactly half-way during the video. It switches those eccentric (high curvature, low speed) points from outside the circle to inside the circle

Very nice I must revisit my one and put a reverse switch in, it has a nice effect.
