My First Laser Build

Hello, im going to be building my first laser im planing on extracting the diode in this LPC-815 20x DVD burner laser lens assembly w/ red laser diode [M0021] - $8.99 : Modwerx Shop the power is going to be 3x AAA batteries and i was wondering what driver would be the best to get around 380ma of power for the least amount of money and have a current control and any tips would be appreciated.

I don't think 4.5v input is enough voltage overhead to be able to use a DDL type circuit.
