Hey guys, so about 2 or 3 weeks ago I got my first lathe and have been playing with it ever since. As tonight came to a close I finally finished my first custom heatsink. I have to admit it's very exciting learning new things, especially things you can do with your hands. I took a couple pictures I hope they're not too big, but I just wanted to share this first victory with you guys =D
(who doesn't like to show off their new shiny laser?!)

Anyways, some specs are:
-Flexdrive V5 that I'm not sure of the mA because I lazily just eyeballed it after I set it at I think 200mA before and didn't want to desolder and test everything all over again. *-.- ..
-mW output is around 720ish
- Just using the AixiZ red glass lens for now.

Overall I'm very happy with it and think it's a good first victory as everything is a very snug fit. No rattling or loose parts anywhere.

Any comments or suggestions or whatever are welcome =D

I need that heat sink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im also using a big Maglite

would you sell one?!

I am just a beginning machinist, but I could give you all the dimensions and you could see if Jayrob or Flaminpyro would be able to make one?

is that made so that the little rim on one end allows it to lock into the maglite by resting in the protective lens notch? if so its exactly what I wanted to do! would be perfect!

If you could send the dimensions ill see if I can get someone to make it!

Cool build. :gj:
Also literally, with a sink that size it must be more or less CW.

Your only problem will be to get hosts, drivers, and diodes at the pace you can make the heat sinks. :D

could you please give me a link to make custom laser heatsinks? i do own a chop shop but not certain on the build

Would be good to not bump 2 and half year old threads :p

Anyway, for heatsinks, visit my shop. Got link in my signature.
