Great first build! My first build was in a crappy Mini-Maglite with a brass coupler for a heatsink! Haha.

Having use of a machine shop at any time kinda helped
. Reading up here also helped out a lot. Getting the component measurements ahead of time was nice. All I had to do was put it to paper and go to the lathe. Was thinking about running a few of these out on the CNC. I have a couple more 445nm LD on the way along with 2 of Jib's 1.8A drivers. I machined another one of these today and changed the depth of the "pill" to take the longer board, I think the size of the head of this thing makes a wonderfull heatsink for that setup.... maybe I should add fins for more surface area..
