Okay this is m140 diode I think its way under powere at 792ma thinking about getting a driver over 1a what do you think when I add another cell now it dims immediately I think its creating to much heat due to higher voltage?

Dims immediately = Overheating Driver Alert.
Did you heatsink the driver?
You can use mohgasm linear driver upto 1.8A
At this current i doubt it is producing more than 600mW.

To heatsink the driver, use a thermal adhesive that is non conductive and the driver doesnot electrically makes contact with the ground..

May also by bad battery, or bad contact. Especially those aluminum on aluminum screws on some hosts can behave like that.
