This is my very first build. I used the prototyping board on my radioshack electronics learning lab to build the driver It is a LM317T based driver, at 366mA. I got the hexagon heatsink from Jayrob, and the diode, module, and lens from DTR's shop. The big block of metal you see is heatsinking the LM317 (wrapped in aluminum foil). I am very happy with this, though it looks a bit ghetto :crackup:
Here is a video of it lighting some matches at about 5 feet away. Sorry for the bad quality, it is recorded with an iPhone 4
I've also attached a few images of the build itself. Again, please forgive the bad quality, iPhone cameras aren't really good.
