My First Blu Ray Laser Wont Work!

so i just put together my first blu ray laser and it doesn't work.. i know for a fact that my 115 mA driver works but i'm not too sure about my diode (PHR-803t). I was extremely careful when i extracted the diode so i don't know what is wrong... can anybody help me out??

I took the driver back off the diode to test and try a couple different things, but does it need to be soldered onto the diode to work or will it work by just touching the pins to the diode??

I would appreciate any help,

THANKS!!

IF you power your driver and then connect the diode, it blows.
YOU MUST have soldered the diode before powering anithing because if the diode disconnects and reconnects 1 ms later, it will receive a big amount f energy from the capacitor, LED'ing the laser diode in the best case, blowing it in the worst
