Hi All,
I was trying to figure out what a good enclosure would be for my 50mW (really 130 mw) lab green laser module. I found an old SCSI HD enclosure. It is AC powered with an on/off switch, small DC fan, and a removable top. I haven't figured out how to power the fan so for now I just have a 9 volt battery that I connect when in use. I drilled a hole in the faceplate a put a small grommet to pimp it out. There is room for at least one more labby in the case. The laser is running great. I can pop balloons from about 10 feet out. Here are some pictures...

Looking good

The TTL connector is only putting out around 1.3 volts. I wish there was a way to connect up the fan more permanently. The PCB i removed had an output of 12v 5a's and another connector with 3.5 amps. It would work but then I would have this PCB in there just to run a 2.5 inch fan :-/

room for a battery! Thats the same kind of case I used to make my laser, In fact those old scsi boxes are GREAT for building things in. also, these little switch boxes for printers, and monitors work great to build in if you dont have a real project box. They are usually stronger, made of metal, have feet, sometimes power supply's you can use on your laser as well. 8-)
