You mean this one? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5914
If so, it won't be enough, you need to press the entire module with the diode in it into a heatsink if you're planning on driving it at 250 mA.
Something like this: (image by jayrob)
The heatsink doesn't need to be so big, but the bigger it is the better.

That DX module does provide adequate heatsinking for running at 250ma's and I did indicate it in the first page of this thread. ;) But you do need to run duty cycles..I am not sure how long...maybe a minute on...a minute off...something like that.

Ooops, sorry, I guess it was just me as I feel a lot safer if I have a heatsink on the module, but if you say it's ok as long as the laser doesn't stay on for a long time, then I guess it should fine. ;D

Yeah it really is..I am using one with a SenKat diode running at 250ma's. :) It's a darn good burner too.

alright if you guys say so. ; ) say...if u got about 6, 30-35mm washers, then drilled them all out according to the housing size, Then, stick them all 2gether and push the housing inside...would this be an adequate heatsink?

Re: """""My DIY Red Shoebox Laser"""" question

As long as the module fits tightly, it should work, or you can use arctic silver, but I've heard that getting a tight fit is a much better option. ;)
