Well I think its time to post some pic's from my winter hibernation. This project was my first green pointer, though I have built a few labby's from scratch. I recently aquired the proper eye protection for this type of DIY, and put some effort into sizing it down.
The parts I used were entirly from DX, with the exception of the crystal set and the optics. The parts are as follows:

-Driver circuit from Rominsen 30mW no APC (older ver.)
-Diode Laser, 808nm 200mW with can removed DX True 30 (was a true 15 at best)
-Brass diode housing and crystal housing from chrome DX 20mW
-IR filter from NOVA
-Optics from Edmund (no fast axiz lenses used open can)

I took these pic's randomly as I went along, and still have pics to take of the host and the final product.

Enjoy!

Above is the diode housing, retaining ring, and crystal heatsink.

Below is the crystals in the mock up phase.

This is the converted open can 808nm, it tested with the board I chose @ 200mW on my Coherent.

It takes a fine needle or equivelent to place the glue on the medium. Even with a steady hand, it proves to be a challenge ;)

Almost there, I used bath and tile silicone to glue everything together. This includes the medium.

This is a piece of a NOVA IR filter. the ones I received from them were far too large, so a gentle 4 way break took care of that. The only problem I found with breaking them is the dust from the glass gets on the the surface of itself >:(

Last but not least (for now), the TEM00 uncollimated dot on the ceiling approx 6ft. I took this pic with no optics or IR filter. It was raw from the crystals during alignment :)

WOW that's amazing you really have some talent.
It's nice to see such a perfect TEM00 dot and especially from a DIY.
Is it still in the construction phase or have you completed it yet?
And what housing are you going to use? :)

Very nice dude, hats off to you. This is the second time I've seen someone actually make a green laser.

Thanks, its taken me a while and a ton of DX slaghtering. I have to take some more pics of the host, its one of the DX 20mW greenie chrome pens. I chose them for the length and a neet heatsinking assembly. Ill include a couple of pics of that as well. :) Ive made a couple of labby's with a 1watt pump and am trying to shrink them a bit.

*Forgot to mention, yes it is finished just got to take the pics

Nice DIY green, you certainly have skills.

I usually have a witty comment or something to go with my post, but not this time. Fuck!

You must be tired :-X

Okay took some more pics, this thing is pretty vicious with fresh Duracells. Im getting a 64.8mW peak but it steadys out at 52. I have to do this with 500mW and a 1W pump, cant wait to see what happens ::)

Another pic: It doesnt seem to even get warm and no mode problems. The beam at distance is perfect, I will take some outdoor pics tomorrow in the early evening at dusk. An attempt was made but the sky is just too dark :(

Another pic:

It smokes black tape and pops stripied balloons without the aid of an external lens or focus adjustment. Its set for distance, as I didnt think it would be enough to burn.
