I made this cheap modification to use two CR2 3.6v batteries, in the 3045.

I'm not sure on the run time, but it seems to power the LOC with no problem.

Parts used...
1/2 inch (inside diameter) PVC

For battery spacer......
Wood dowel
Two flat washers
Copper house wire
Rubber o-ring

Cut dowel to size, drill a hole through it for wire.
Place wire through the dowel, solder washer to wire on both sides.
Use o-ring to fit inside PVC pipe. (tape will also work)
I hope this helps anyone who dosen't want to use 10440's in the red build.
Sorry for the large pictures, I can't figure out how to use thumbnails

Nice work on your battery mod.

It would be ideal for a BR diode.

But, since the LOC diode only requires 3 VDC,
a single #18650 li-ion would give you about 3 times the run time.

It wouldn't be ideal for BR because they require more voltage :p What would be ideal for a BR in this host is 3xAAA Ni-MH (1000mAh) and a flexdrive.

Also, JayRob told me 18650 doesn't fit in this host? :undecided:

Good mod though. I've done this many times but a bit more primitive with merely rolled up cardboard as insulation :p I build much stuff with mere household materials :D

Thanks, I forgot to add that I am using a rkcstr driver (kit version from Modworks)

Cheers,
Ray
