Most powerful 660nm laser?

I'd like to see one pushed hard like that, at least you're not out too much if it does die.
I'm just using a micro flex drive (set at 488mA) on mine, it seems to be holding up well, although I don't usually do any lengthy duty cycles.

I'm with you Paul, this thread started out poorly; hopefully it'll improve from here on out. :yh:

Thanks, Jeff. Me too. I put mine in a 501B host and get a couple minutes out of it until I shut it down as I don't want to push it. I've still got two or three of those adjustable drivers in my stock waiting for me to do something. I know I'll be too busy to do another LPC-840 now, but eventually.......

That diode is rated at 150 mA. It can be pushed harder, but at 500 mA you are probably in fold over and are getting less, not more, optical power out of it.

2nd- 660 is never one of the 'brightest' it takes ~ 4000 mW of 660 to appear as bright as the pricey 640 w/ thin beam at 2000mW--

its not helpful for you to argue with our vets.
we DO like to help but....

555 nm according to many is perceived to be the brightest of all lasers. (according where you read)
JUST 100 mW appears as bright as >8000 mW of 405 violet..
