The title says it all. Today i took apart a zoomable cree t-6 that i got somewhere on the internets.
Its this flashlight
UltraFire 2500LM 5 Mode Zoomable CREE XML XM L T6 LED Flashlight Torch 18650 604688087058 | eBay
I realized the pill for it was just a little too big for the bottom of a c6 heatsink, but above the lip it perfectly fits the larger portion of the HS. so i busted out my dremmel and grinded for about 20 minutes until the HS would go in snug when vice pressed.
With just a little modification, the c6 HS works surprisingly well
The c6 HS is not pressed all the way in in the pictures, it was a little tricky to get out and i didn't want to scuff the finish more than i already have until i figure out what to put in this.
now for pics!
Threw an old phr-805t module in there to test
for the "dressed down" look
The "zoomable" portion still has full original range of motion
This last photo shows a proof of concept, the lens can be switched out, and the zoom slide stiffened to make the actual lens assembly the focus, utilizing the zoomable.
Thanks for looking!
