Looking into buying one of these programmers to start using microchips in my builds for things like my Spiro and led projects. i found one on eBay that looks good and is from the us. (i try to only buy from us just because.) i wanted to know if any one here has any experience with anything like this and has some advice.
Picstart Lite 16B1 Microchip tech , Programmer DV162003 - eBay (item 280412416733 end time Nov-18-09 12:36:00 PST)
this one appears to be good but very limited to what it can work with looks to be about 3 models of chips.
Enhance JDM PIC programmer Microchip with 40pin ZIF - eBay (item 310175980234 end time Nov-18-09 14:43:59 PST)
then there this one that looks to support a ton of chips.
Any advice i am looking into getting my feet wet into this area without spending 100$.

BlueFusion showed me this the other day:
Teensy USB Development Board

It's cheap, fast, and easy. The USB plug is built into the board, so if space isn't too much of a concern (it's remarkably small anyways), you might want to consider trying it out.

I'm planning on using it in my upcoming DIY DPSS as a temperature stabilizer
