Metrologic HeNe doesn't lase, should be able to fix?

I have an old Metrologic HeNe laser which I dropped a long time ago, and ever since that happened, the laser doesn't lase. It still powers on, tube lights up and everything, just no lasing. I imagine that the bore broke when it was dropped, or perhaps one of the mirrors was damaged. Am I correct in thinking that all I'd need to do is find a matching (or even similar) HeNe tube on ebay and just swap the tubes? It's a 632nm, so a replacement should be easy enough to find. Would really like to bring this unit back to life and it seems simple enough, but figured I should ask first before I try it.

Any advice, or anything I'm missing?

If only the tube was damaged you could find a Similar Sized
HeNe tube and it should come back to life.

If the tube lights, it is possibly repairable, provided it has no air contamination - just needs some alignment (ask teh google) I've never aligned a laser before, but it doesn't sound too hard. If anything, you'd do it for the learning experience, as it's probably not worth your time to spend 2+hours repairing a $20 item.

if it has adjustable mirrors, maybe. many are glued in place on those smaller (under 24 inches) tubes. Laserbee's advice is spot on. if its the tube, learn and scout for another. their lengths are varied, but more or less standard-there are not that many different sizes. another the same length will probably do the trick. how long is it? What power was supplied to it? 1250v?
