I saw this on eBay. Someone on here might get that 15 WATT Argon Krypton laser for $100.

Do you have 3 phase wiring going into your house ? That is only 1 hour away from me if someone wants to buy two, and give me one :) For a 15 WATT system - I would ALMOST pay the thousands it would cost to have 3 phase installed :P

Watch out - these large scale surplus sellers are often just helping companies sell off old junk that would be going into the dump anyway. Someone COULD get an absolutely amazing deal, but without a PSU in the auction and 3 phase power reqs, it'd be insanely hard to ever test it anyway.

Good chance though if the tube isn't already dead and outgassed years ago (You need to run them every few weeks/months or they'll just outgas and quit firing), the seller only got the laser because it was on its last leg anyway. In short, VERY big gamble on your hands there. Extremely high risk, extremely high reward.

And the $900 freight charge :P I actually had scoped out that Krypton system last week some time - along with it's sister :P

LOL- too bad you weren't at the midwinter Waukesha hamfest, sold 2 of them 1 krytpton and 1 argon for 250 a piece with the aircraft carrier anchor power suppliers! They achieved serious T.U.S. status, after about a year on craig's list and no bites...

all you need is a 1800.00 dollar phase converter ;D

And is this $1800 phase converter capable of outputting 40A or more on all legs? Even if it was, where would you find 120A of supply for the phase converter?

Shut of the power, you can always cut up the fuse box/switch box and connect it up there.

My Brother used to work for ESI, they make CO2 laser trimmers for integrated circuits/chips. This was 20 years ago but they a this huge box where they would just toss stuff that wasn't in spec and it was free. The coolest thing(that I got) was this gold plated laser chamber thing with mirrors. You would shine the laser in one end and it would bounce around inside this thing and come out three different openings with two sided mirrors. I really tripped on that one for a while. Of course there werent any laser pointers then. Just imagination and flashlights. It became an ash tray at my Brothers house when the trill was gone.
