many new products at CNI

It seems that not many people buy directly from CNI. I guess the reason is that CNI doesn't list its prices online, so people assume that they (the lasers) are either very expensive or that they can be only purchased in bulk.

Well, if you try buying a single unit - $100 for shipping, $40 to send a wire transfer, needing the equipment to test the lasers and then preparing for RMA costs if theres a problem, and being willing front the bill if customs snags them... etc. It all tends to add up. If you're purchasing a lab module in the thousands of dollars range, its not too big of a deal, but if you're trying to buy a 150mW pen, you'd be far better off going with Nova

yeah.A 100mw laser from there is cheaper then nova but shipping is $60.

There seems to be a discrepancy on the CNI website.

For the portable blue laser, the diagram shows that the key switch is located in the back and the interlock is supposed to be inserted in the side (similar to the green lasers), but the photos show that it is the other way around. I'm guessing that there are two explanations:

1. The photos show an older model of the laser.
2. The diagrams are incorrect.

(Personally, I like the design of the green laser better since it makes the laser slightly more compact.)

I think Justin was telling us that those 500mW CNI PGL-IIIs weren't good and couldn't keep a stable power over 500mW.

Oh man, if you only buy one laser from CNI and you don't have a laser power meter you are in for a fun time. Every laser retailer tests their lasers (some more than others, but that's a different story) because the stuff you get from a manufacturer like CNI is... how to say this... inconsistent.

These "500mW" PGL-III-C, for example, will not maintain output for longer than 60-90 seconds. We considered selling them but next to a Hercules they just don't stand up to any kind of serious testing. This is what DL and others are selling as the "Hulk Ultra" and after testing boxes and boxes of them we packed them all up and shipped them back.

I can tell you for sure, I wouldn't buy an untested PGL-III-C directly from CNI after seeing what a whole box of them looked like, unless you happen to have a really good power meter.

There seems to be another discrepancy on the CNI site. The products page says that CNI has 660 nm and 671 nm portable lasers, but the portables page makes no mention of them at all. :-/

I'm planning to buy the PGL-III-C, anyone know where I can get it?
I'm currently in China, so I could possibly save some $, but do you think they have a power meter for me to test it?

for all of you that dont know the color spectrum compared to nm you should take a look at this image.

they sell all lasers even with a single unit. They have new updated good prices for pointers recent time.I think maybe the freight is a problem for 1unit.The base price for total weight within 1kg is the same. That means for the pointers you buy 1unit and 3 or 5units ,are with the same freight.

CNI has his own maked PM.They also have coherent PM for the final testing for lasers.
