This thread is for all the pulsed-laser-pros out there. Its almost as stupid as asking for a homemade chemical laser, but I saw some Ti:Saphir mirrors on ebay which were sold, so I was just wondering if anyone had the same idea?

Ultra-short-pulse laser are so damn cool I cant even find words for it...

Even a superfast UV pulse-laser like Excimer or a Marxlaser would fire a pulse 1000 times longer than a femto-second-laser...amazing dont you think?

Nothing is impossible to build if you want it bad enough. (excluding things that are physically impossible, of course) Very, very difficult maybe, but not impossible.
And no, I am not just being a wise-ass, I'm just saying if you want to build it bad enough, you will find a way.

Thanks for the motivation...

Actually I am aiming for the laser-guided-energy thing. But something is confusing me: All of us know the laser induced plasma channel video on utube...the rate is kinda low...fs-lasers can pulse with 1000hz or so. Thats why I was thinkin its a pulsed UV laser, ionizing the air. But the puls is still a thousand times longer than a fs-laser-pulse.

I would go for a 1-2W Ti:Sa laser...hard enough to play around with 1W CW SS lasers.
