In am making a 200-250mw burning laser exactly like Kipkay's laser flashlight hack. I want to build a driver to keep the diode alive for more frequent use but what exactly what parts do I need? I have seen lists and guides but they are all different. Can it all fit inside the flashlight?

It will protect your LD but wont fit in an AixiZ module.

Im afraid you have quite a bit of reading to do. People here will help you but not hold your hand. ;)

Start with the links in my sig then make your way to the stickied threads. The search is useful too.

Since 2 AAs (3 volts) would be powering this is it enough? Do I need the driver for only 3 volts?

The first one in your signature was the most helpful. Thanks! It even has the driver video and a good guide.

Personally I would start with a box build. The easiest way to build a driver and burning laser is get an aixiz module then go to radio shack get the stuff for a LM317 driver and a 9V battery clip. Build big and bulky first and also know that 9V batteries don't last as long as liion. After you have some experience find a smaller driver like a flex drive and go from there on a maglight.
