M-140 tem01

i have a M-140 diode, and when i tried to use it my driver blew and my diode went TEM01
it could also have been a heating problem

apparently the back (where the leads are) gets hottest, and so its best to try and cool that part


i thought i had LED the diode, but it still lases

i sadly dont have a bench power supply and didnt take a pic
does anyone here have a solution for the heat problem?

You mean like improving the heat sinking? It would help to know what heat sinking you're using now. Pics would show us a lot.

i dont have it here with me, or i would snap a pic right now

Edit: i am willing to buy a new house for the diode if this one is crap

also, it will be seated in a projector, so size doesnt matter all that much...

Never run a diode stand alone , they can take a lot but not uncooled , check this link

it looks a lot smaller than what i use
mine is not copper at all though

these Aixiz module are all pressed in
and the back is free with only the leads there

i need to run this diode for hours on end
so better cooling is required

i pointed a 12cm fan at it directly but it still mode hopped to TEM01 :S

those DTR modules are supposed to be fitted into a bigger heatsink?

yes you need 1 of those from that site , and then fit that module in a bigger ( big ) heatsink cpu heatsink or something else
