LPC 815 at ~460mA?

Hello guyz,

I just wanted to ask, if anybody knows how high this diode can go, with some kinda stable results and some good diode lifetime?

Coz i'm making now new laser, and as driver I got LM317T with resistor, and i picked 2.7 ohm one. Just if its too much for this diode, or can it handle too much power?

In normal AixiZ module, maybe i'll be thinking about passive cooler and some thermal fluid...

For an LPC, yes that's about right. Much preferred though would be the LPC-816 at no more than 450mA.

Or @ ~495mA...Mine'd been running for hours with no degradation!

I have ran several even upto 580mA in a large copper sink..
450mA-500mA is considered to be on the high side of recommended current for LPC-815's :beer:

Just replaced my 815 which popped if thats the correct term.
Been out of the laser build for a while and decided to see why it had failed. It was set up to run at 200ma but when the diode test bank was put on it was reading 350ma
Cant remember the driver I was using but it had a variable pot on it purchased from modwerx a while ago.
Can these drivers drift over time or maybe the pot just moved?
Anyway set back to 200ma and new 815 put in all good

Or jump to the LPC-826. Cheap on eBay for an offer of $8 =)
