Low cost 532nm C6 Build

Yes it is expensive alright. Don't like their hosts though but could easily be placed in a more elegant host. As far as completed builds go, while not impossible to get one in OZ the risk of having it seized by customs is very high and I am not willing to take the risk. I do see that some other Aussies on here have managed to get them in somehow and know of others traveling from oversees have brought them back with them.
For me a big part of the fascination with this hobby has become the building itself. As far as having a high power green goes i might just bide my time and be patient until DTR has a price drop on his 1W 520nm diodes, that will be an awesome amount of green!

Yeah, that's the reason I buy so few builds myself. I would rather do it myself and get the satisfaction that it brings than buy pointers from someone else. Forgot you are in Australia. That does make a big difference. I agree that the host offered by the eBay seller leaves much to be desired, but it does have the lens you need and I'm sure I saw an infrared filter in there, too. I would very much like to have that 520nm laser diode Jordan offers, but , like you, I will have to wait until the price comes down. The price always comes down. Especially on diodes as new as this one. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see it at half this price in a year or two. Depends on how popular they get. Man, you guys have some crazy laws to deal with there.

Yeah we do have crazy laws on a lot of things. They had some huge reforms on gun laws many years back and now there are more shooting here than ever. People with criminal intent know how to get them still. As far as lasers go I guess it does make it harder for the idiots to get them but also makes it hard for potential genuine laserists to get them too!

busman2, I noticed you have an LPM and have gotten the 532nm modules from FASTTECH, I was wondering if you ever tried to increase the power on them while measuring the output? Or just turning the pot clockwise and seeing how much power you could get out of it? If you heat sink the output transistor on the driver board and heat sink the module, you can do this safely without burning out your module, and I'm very curious about how much more power can be had out of these so called 5mW DPSSLs. I was told by someone that these would get up to 140mW under the right conditions and it was because of this that I purchased four of them. Thanks for any information you can give. :)
