in search for a decent green laser capable of burning,lighting matches and long distances.. just recieved my 50mw from gadgettown and it doesnt perform as i was lead on that it would by other people. fairly new to laser so if anyone is willing to help or point me in the right direction, i would greatly appreciate it. may also be willing to build my own if i had a parts list and direction site to follow step by step..love the forum here,,seen some really cool lasers from members,,thanks,,,charlie j.

Making your own green is not for the novice. It can be done, but its not easy.

If you want to buy a burning green laser, you need one in the upper 100mW range. Most cheap Chinese web sites lie about power. So to get a good burning green laser from one of those sites, you'll want a 200mW+ laser.

And don't forgt how important eye protection is. It's very easy to catch a stray beam.

If you looking for a burning Laser i would go for Optotronics 120mw Laser Pen. These are tested Lasers. It will cost you something but at the end you will be happy.
I got one of them and i´m still happy with it. Another good seller is o-like.
