Hey this is for future reference to be exact June 23 24 or 25 . I am wondering who can build me a good handheld 200mw to 300mw 532nm laser.

You won't really see that huge of a difference between the greenie you have now, and two or even 300mW.

532nm lasers are dpss, meaning you're dealing with modules, and the better modules from say o-like go up to only 200mW, (usually 160-180mW after IR).

Modules over 200mW are quite a bit more expensive, so you would be better off grabbing something from lazerer, or o-like, or rayfoss in the power range you're looking for, and then if you want, have someone transplant the module into a different host. Idk why you would want to do that if you like the host initially, but it would be interesting:)

Btw, on your laser, you can remove the waterproofing lens for a slight boost in power (very slight) and better dot profile. I wouldn't do that though.

Edit: Personally when I'm deciding which laser to stick in my pocket... instead of the 550mW cannon I end up going with a small 70mW greenie. If I want to point at something, or pop a balloon it's enough ;)

ok thx for your input. I would like a laser with a bit more power not really for taking out but for burning. I don't really care if someone makes it or if i buy it off someone so if u come into a 200mw to 300mw greenie you don't need at june let me know i'll have around 100 to 125 bucks

You would be better off with a 445nm 1W+ laser for burning.

Obviously you'd probably need to upgrade the goggles you have (not sure what kind you have now but for 1W you need at least OD 2) but aside from that, you can easily build a 445nm laser yourself for ~$100 or buy one here for a bit more.

I have three, but they are in a slightly higher price bracket...

All of these do ~1.3W+, and would come with batteries. The kryton (the longer one) and the ehgemus (the shorter one) could both use a polish, but work perfectly.

The gun... well it's awesome, but I just don't use it enough so it just sits in my desk.

The price is $200 for the ehgemus and the gun is $220, for the kryton, $200.

Yes, but they aren't really burners.

I don't want to sell you something that you won't like. For burning I would highly advise going with either a 405nm or 445nm laser.

Udanis has a 500mW 405nm laser for sale right now in the B/S/T section... it would work great for you.

If you want to spend a bit less, you can also go with a ~200mW 660nm red laser, but it won't burn anywhere near as well.

well i'm not ready to buy at this moment considering i don't have any more money to spend on lasers. i should be able to get some money for my b-day but not absolutely sure how much i'm going to be getting. So this was a thread basically for future reference.

I figured as much. Just seeing the thread I wanted to point you in the right direction. Don't want you getting something that's not gonna be up to your expectations :)

i appreciate your help :) i think a half a watt green would do my purpose well. I kinda prefer green. they just look cooler to me
;p

Well, as you see by my signature, I'm definitely partial to green lasers:p

For visibility, absolutely nothing beats them, but when It comes to burning, that's another story...

When the time comes around, get yourself a nice 445nm, trust me, you won't regret it.

next time i get around 200 bucks i'll get one. unfortunately i don't think i will get that much till next year :(
