Looking for replacement diode

I'm working on a star projector for a friend, the blue diode in it has quit working. It's a 5mw diode, and I'm not sure where I can find another one that is relatively cheap. This one has overheated. It's pressed into a heatsink, but I think it still managed to overheat. I've got a small fan that I've installed to force air over the heat sink, I'm just having trouble finding a suitable diode with a focus ring thread.

5mW diode overheating? Why do you think its 5mW? Its written on a label, etc?

You could post pictures of the label and whole unit so we could help. "Blue diode" could mean 405nm, 445nm, 450nm...

This is the link for a similar unit. This one states that it has a green laser, but I was told it was blue? I'm assuming it's 5mw based on the use. I don't recall the label, but I'll check on it this evening.
