Looking for blue 1.7Watt laser

On this other forum a friend posted a video of him using his 1.7watt laser burning paper and popping balloons, now the user he bought it off is now inactive, he bought it for $180 so I would like it to be about that price range, anyone point me in the right direction?


EDIT: I'm in the UK so how would I go about getting this past customs?

Strangely enough you've come in the right direction, but i'm guessing from your questions you're new to lasers and haven't used the search button.

I don't think there will be many people here who will lay the answers on a plate for you.
1.7W is VERY dangerous,,, a fraction of that power can blind in an instant,,,,, you MUST do some research first.

If i'm wrong, sorry about that I still dunno about the 1.7w without building it yourself (read, read, read),,,,but don't sweat the customs ;-)

This laser is considerably less power, and you can see the damaged done. Certified safety goggle are mandatory when using lasers at this power. No joke.

Be very careful with a 1.7W Laser.....treat it with respect, it's no toy and make sure any spectators wear eye protection too.

Dude you're starting to get on my nerves. He said he got goggles with the laser, and asked if he'd be safe. Instead of repeatedly "copy and past" the same message over an over, why not trying to help the guy?

@Commander: Yes, you should be safe. Most goggles are designed to take a hit for a few seconds. So unless you're you holding the laser for a long period time, focused on the lenses, you should be safe. Just use common sense and you should be fine.
