Well I have had a 50mw laser for a while and was pretty impressed with it but the other day it got wet and damaged the diode.

Was looking around for a new laser and a was impressed by wicked lasers arctic and it being able to be seen from space. But obviously they are pretty much regarded on here as a no no so my question is?

What laser can I get that would be similar to the Arctic, with 2w of power, huge range and good burning capability? Also I live in the UK so one with reliable shipping here would also be good

Thanks
Lewis

I would say you should buy from laserbtb as they come with nice safety features too and cheap for what you get.

You could also look on this forum because there are lots of reputable builders on here that could custom build you a real hum dinger ! Or you could do it yourself which is gonna be my next thing!!!! Saw a real nice MrCrowse hand grenade host that I am having many evil ideas about. I am also fiddling around with a liquid cooling idea to increase run time, but I don't want you guys to think me nuts ! lol (see signature)

I bought the 1600mW version of this: PL 445nm 500-2000mW

It was the most powerful.. until they brought out the 2000mW (2W) version days after (damn). If you want to pay quite a bit extra for those extra 400mW... go for it, won't make much real world difference though.

Check my signature for a review of the PL445. I wasn't so keen on the colour at first, seeing it as a bit of a "dirty" blue, but it's really grown on me and I've come to see it as a nice line of blue. It's visible under most conditions and makes a cracking sky pointer too. I defocus mine slightly as the beam focussed to infinity will wreck any carpets you have... I take the divergent output over holes in things any day.

I'm in the UK too and three of their products got to me relatively quickly with no poking at the package or bother from customs.
