Haven't you read my posts? Unless you send it to someone to get it metered and check for mode hopping and condition, I ain't going to buy it... Huh ? How do you get 150mw max out of a DX200 ? I have seen several of them exceed the 200mw mark - have they changed their DX200 lasers out or something ? NOT being argumentative, just curious how you got that figure....

Huh ? How do you get 150mw max out of a DX200 ? I have seen several of them exceed the 200mw mark - have they changed their DX200 lasers out or something ? NOT being argumentative, just curious how you got that figure....[/quote]
yea for the DX pen lasers, doesnt it mostly depend on the batteries you use?

The batts - and also how many sacrifices you have made to the laser gods, and how much you have prayed to them as well ! LOL !! Mostly with DX it is pure luck of hte draw - they do NOT test their stuff prior to sending it out, besides if it spends 4 months in shipping to get to you, it will be REALLY lucky to work at all !

I agree...
I've got my DX200 up over 200mW, but it takes brand new Energizer Titanium AAAs and a bit of creative cooling. See vid here. And even then, It only stays at 200+ for 30 sec. or so before it's slow inexorable fall to sub-100mW due to battery depletion and over-heating.
They are finicky beasts only good for popping balloons and lighting matches in short bursts. If you can afford brand new AAAs every time you use it, they're great. (Assuming of course that you get one that is capable of 200mW in the first place.) Like SenKat says, it's a crap-shoot.

Well according to some people there is a good chunk of IR coming out of them. I have not bought one.....yet, but I will eventually.
