I just recorded a live cover of the song "Best I Ever Had" by "Drake" today.
Using my talkbox :p
I really like this video for it really puts what I do into perspective
"behind the scenes" if you will :p

And the lyrics since the lower octave is VERY robotic and hard to decipher :p

Baby you my everything
You all I ever wanted
We can do it real big, bigger than you ever done it
You be up on everything, other hoes ain't never on it
I want this forever, I swear I can spend whatever on it

'Cause she hold me down every time I hit her up
When I get right I promise that we gonna live it up
She make me beg for it, till she give it up
And I say the same thing every single time

I say you the fuckin best
you the fuckin best
You the fuckin best
you the fuckin best
You the best I ever had
best I ever had
Best I ever had
best I ever had

What was that tube thing?
That's the tube from the talkbox, which is connected to the keyboard. I play the keyboard, the sound is sent into my mouth, I then shape the raw sound into words with my mouth :p Essentially, the synth becomes my new vocal chords.

fail!

Nice vid, You defiantly have some talent!
Thanks :D This just goes to show that people who use "unnatural" voices aren't talentless :p

Do a vid with you just talkin straight up with that. That'd be sick! How much would such a thing cost? I'd love to talk using one of those.

I'm not familiar with talkboxes, so I had no idea...sorry >.<

It's only good for singing really. You can hear how much better and clearler it sounds once I hit the higher notes. Unless of course I was doing some Daft Punk style type stuff that actually requires the robotic lower octave.

This setup would probably cost you around $400-600 depending on what kind of deal you can get on everything :p and/or used stuff.
