This happened yesterday night.
I was by the city harbour front , playing with my 500mW greenie .
The tourists there was loving it , the locals were offering me hundreds of dollars for it and asking where can they get one.
All was well.

Then there was this little Mexican kid , can't be more than 5 .
Who got the wise idea to.... Walk through the beam ....

Luckily I was demonstrating the laser's range by pointing it towards the moon and pray to the 589nn laser king no one was looking down.

Because when the kid walk through the laser.
Our peripheral vision was BLASTED by a rain of green light.

Kids.....
There were like 4-5 kids in the crowd , they were good and refrained from touching the beam after the briefing ...
But all jt takes is ONE bad apple , and then its all going to hell.

If I ever show someone a laser outside, without goggles, into the night sky, I always point such that the beam originates above our heads (arms extended) and can't be "walked through"... maybe that would be a good operating practice on the boardwalk henceforth?

Glad no one was hurt!

Yes i use my greens to point out stars etc and almost always point above so no one can
walk through it or at a minimum get the ppl to stay in one place ie i don't have kids around full stop
but stuff happens and that's the problem with lasers fun to have but a great care has to be taken all the time ,one slip and results can be permanent

I don't think a tripod will suffice....
I was using a 1.5 m tripod near the handrails , but then a kid just slip right between the little crack and walk through it intentionally.....

I think i need this
