Hello!
I want to know about which Diode will be at the LG H20L burner (6x Burner).
Which power does it have? To which power I can drive it with good Lifetime?
I think to couble some of this, like my old big red project.
Greetings,
Phil

You need to look at the first set of letters as well. The GGW-H2OL has the good diode. We aren't sure about the GGC-H2OL. I don't recall this morning what the most recent model designation for the LG 6X writer is, but it should have the good diode in it as well.

Peace,
dave

Hey Phillip,

Like daguin said, we know that the GGW has a good diode, while we are not sure about the others. Though just wondering, are you planning on buying a drive to rip apart (it would be better to just get a sled in that case), or do you already have one handy?

As far as the 6X goes, there are basic guidelines that we have, but we will not know the exact durability of the 6X (GGW-sled), until IgorT finishes his testing. Nevertheless, this is a really interesting thread for powerful BR diodes ,http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1228867955/0, in which Igor tested a Nichia diode that comes with a datasheet (maybe such a diode would be of more interest to you), the thread also contains alot of informations and diode plots of the 6X diode, http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1228867955/120, scroll down to the middle and you will see Igors plots as well his general opinion on what is a safe output for the diodes.

If you are planning another monster project like your red, it might also be good to wait for Igors lens GB. They are AR coated glass lenses which give a considerable increase in output as well as better beam specs, while reflecting less light back into the diode decreasing wear. Otherwise around 200mw with acrylic is generally considered safe for 6X, with the AR lense it would be 240 ish + (don't quote me on that, but in that area), so you could really make a beast of a BR laser with your skills.

Hi!
Ok, I seen I can drive to arround 150-180mW after good optics, and have good lifetime
Now the problem is, how easy is the diode to Build out? Must I cut the holder of the diode, or is it only glued and I can get out without much work?
Greetings,
Phil
