LEDshoppe 50mW green underspec? Dissapointed.

When I contacted them, I got the same standard "return for a replacement." It just didn't seem worth it to me, so I kept the pointer.

Well, I initially got that "return for a replacement" reply at first, then I replied and told them that the cost for returning it via certified mail with signature confirmation would be $27.25 and that I could not afford to pay that up front right now, and asked if they would go ahead and send a replacement with a pre-paid postage return label for the defective one, then they replied a week ago and said ok they would go ahead and send a replacement.

I am waiting now to see if they follow thru with what they said they would do. I'll post to let you know when they actually give me a new tracking number showing it actually shipped, then also when I actually receive it.
 





An update on my looooooong process of trying to get what I paid for from LED Shoppe.

They sent a reply a week ago (Nov 4th) where they said:

"That's fine. Sorry for the defective item. We will send you replacement asap and we will test it before we ship. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Yours, LED Shoppe"

.......but it's now been a week later and still no reply with a new tracking number even though I emailed them a few times for it.

Hopefully they will honor what they said and follow thru and the delay is just them being slow.

(I am keeping a close eye on the 45 day limit to get a refund from PayPal so if I do not get a good replacement as promised before then I will have no choice but to enter a dispute to protect myself)

......has anyone had LED Shoppe NOT follow thru with sending a good replacement for a defective laser ?

If so, did you do a PayPal or credit card dispute and get a refund ?

(hopefully it won't come to that, I would much prefer they send a good replacement, then I would give them a good review for the good one)

I'm not sure if anyone from LED Shoppe reads any of the forums or not (and thereby read today that I mentioned I did not yet get a reply from them as of that time and made sure I got a reply soon, because usually the emails I got from them before would usually arrive around 5am or so my time so it seemed unusual to get an email from them today at about 9pm), .......but lo and behold I just got a reply from them about 3/4 hour ago.

They replied:

"Replacement order was shipped out on 9/11. Here is the new tracking number: RT*********HK
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Yours, LED Shoppe"

I checked the tracking number and it said:

"The item (RT*********HK) left Hong Kong for its destination on 12-Nov-2010"

So while I am tired of all the waiting to finally get a good undefective laser from them, I am at least very encouraged that they are indeed being honorable in keeping their promise to send me a good (tested) replacement ! :D

I will again give an update when I actually receive it and check it out to see how well the replacement works, and since they said they were testing this one before shipping I should hopefully be able to give a good review of the replacement.
