If the pot was turned to max and you fed it 4.5V, you probably popped it. :(

I used a dummy load to test the output and was ~300mA so that shouldn't of poped it :/

Kook a LOC should survive at the max this driver can supply. They state it has a low drop out so 3 AAAs should work fine for your purpose. Did You short the output before connecting your diode? You can try new batteries or even add another AAA just to see how it reacts.

Yep, i made damn sure i did this time. I tested the voltage output and was 4.6V, I'll try new batts and get back, also when i focus it to a tight spot I get a line going through, the spot is a pinprick size ???

your lens may be backwards or not properly sitting in the lens module as I've seen it before on one of mine. that 4.6v was the batteries and not the output from the driver correct?

what Lens are you using the Acrylic or the Glass?

It was from the batteries alone, I'm using the standard acrylic lens that was with the module
