Ok I'm going to decorate my locker with leds.I'm going to power it with 3 d battery's. If my circuit needs 545.5 ma how long would the battery last.

3 D batteries in series or parallel? If they are in series then take the mAh rating of the battery and divide it by 545.5 and that will be how many hours it can stay on for those batteries. If they are in parallel do the same thing but multiply the answer by 3.

you have LEDs drawing half an amp? that's gonna be one bright locker....
half an amp is not THAT many, look at a seoul P7

lol yeah, but that's a 900 lumen (theoretical) output - just a tad of overkill for a locker decoration :P

How about using a set of three rechargeable AA batteries and go for something little more discreet in light output?

Use one set of three a day and have another set charging at home and just change between the sets every morning.

That way you'll always have light. 8-)

Btw, if you're using a bunch of 20mA LEDs its ok to just give them 10-15mA each, they'll still be pretty bright and you save power.

That would be a good way to flash someone opening the door... ;D Though It would be overkill... Probably flashing him for too long. Like 2 weeks [smiley=evil.gif]

I'm going to be using about 30 white leds from dx. I will only turn it one when i open it.

how many mah does a good d battery have.I hope i can sell them for laser money.
