lasers in aussie land

Probably a good idea i intend on expanding a post on how to make sure you have the better chance of getting a laser in Australia, i will post it as a new thread as the other one is a bit lost in the middle of this thread and there's a few more tips i need to add to it

And in the last 12 months I have had customs open and inspect the following:

* A pack of 100 SMD LED's (they WERE from Amsterdam I guess).
* A 12V to 5V down converter,
* A packet of cables terminated in connectors
* A carton of kretek cigarettes (which cost me $79 in import duty) :yabbmad:

I think its a bit hit and miss and depends on who is looking at the time. I HAVE bought laser heads and whole lab lasers in without any problems, but none of that is illegal.

The only pointer I bought was the 30mW in my signature (and an identical one I gave to my Son for his 18th birthday), and that was about 8 years ago before they were illegal.

But then there are members here who HAVE had pointers confiscated by Australian customs.

Your millage may vary, as they say.
