Laserdiode from DVD Burner

Hello, i want ask something.
Can i use for laser pointer this diode from DVD burner. Type : LG GH22NS70
Diode looks different, she have 4 pins. Here is picture:

It can be used, but no where near as easily as typical 5.6mm diodes.

The main problem is just mounting the diode. If you can mount it where the 5.6mm diode should go, and heatsink the metal tabs, you should be able to make use of it.

If you have $10 to spare, just buy a red diode. Or a pointer.
