I purchased A laserbtb PL532 - 300 laser I wanted to know what type of 18650 battery to use in this laser? protected on non protected battery. And will the captivity of the battery matter

Up to you whether you want to use a protected battery or not. Each has its own benefits. The best 18650's, in my opinion and others, are AW's: AW 18650 Protected 3400 mAh Rechargeable Lithium Battery

Capacity is exactly what it sounds like. A greater capacity correlates to longer a run time before you run out of battery.
