I see that there was a group buy of these a while back, and that recipients reported "very low" divergence, but I have not been able to find where anyone actually measured it. Divergence is my favorite thing about lasers. :D Can anyone satisfy my curiosity?

That depends on what lens is used and how well it is positioned. It will be comparable with other single mode diodes - something like 0.5mRad would be typical.

The fast axis is a little more active on the 520 diodes than the other SM diodes (at least the ones I played with)

That said, the divergence is still fantastic. Easily 0.5 mRad.

edit:
Note you need to set the focus yourself. I have a section of a post-it note jammed between the focusing knob and the host body and that sets it perfectly.

I was wondering about a nearly similar thing, the divergence of the PL405 as compared to custom S06J 12X builds with g or 3 element lenses. my current 405 uses a g lens and i prefer it over the 3 element

Is the pl405 comparable also, .5mrad?
