Laser Starter Project

Hi Everyone

Looking to start a small project with lasers and thought this would be the best place to do some research.

I'm looking to install 5-6 laser diodes into a piece of wood (e.x. a circle chopping board) to create a ring of lasers which can then be seen when smoke goes through the beams.

Can anyone advise how I would go by making 5-6 lasers operate of AA batteries with a switch?

These use a simple dropper resistor to limit the current. If the long shipping time isn't ideal, here's a US source for 4x the price. Just switch in 3V to the leads with a 2xAA case, and wire them in parallel. Be sure to use a drill press for your holes, or your beams will not be aligned.

At least that's how I would do it.
