Laser questions, where to buy.

Hi all,

my first post here,

Just a question, but i'm wondering where's the best to get a high powered laser from? I checked here before registering, i looked at LuckLaser then at Jetlasers which seem to be pretty well spoken of.

I was wondering whether to go for a green or blue one, which is most visible? It seems green, but because blue are cheaper at a much higher power rating then i guess it sort of evens out?

I checked some Jetlasers ones, the blue 2W PLE-Pro looks pretty nice and a good price, and then there's a large jump in price to 3.5W to 5W. From reading these forums they seem highly regarded, except for the beam divergence. Does the beam spread that much more than it should? I guess the dot would be pretty big from a distance then?

Yes JL is one of the best companies out there, not only are their lasers of great quality but the customer service is top-notch. I bought 1 laser from them awhile ago and I never had a problem, only positive remarks.

Secondly, green will be more visible than blue. If you want a visible laser get green, if you want to burn get blue. Each wavelength is good at different things.

Finally, for a great 445nm(blue) laser check out "Blord". He is a member on this forum and makes absolutely stunning lasers for great prices!

I was just looking for something different because blue looks nice, is there that much difference in visibility with green though?

You cant compar prices of.blue to green. Two completely different lasers and different processes to obtain a laser beam. Above 1W, blue is plenty visible, even during mid day. Green will take a bunch of power to do that (maybe 500mW or so but never tried it during the day)

If you want a one of a kind blue laser that is 3.2W then send me a message, if not id suggest laserbtb

I messaged Blord and he says a 700mW green is brighter than a 3.5W blue, so if that is true then it looks like it takes a lot more power for a blue laser to be comparable?

Yes.

Be aware though, 700mW 532nm lasers aren't cheap

If you are going for brighness and WOW factor, blue is your best bet, while keeping a decent budget.

They are also more stable, and less likely to break

In any case read up on all the safety aspects in the LPF Safety and Legal issues section

I have a 15mW green, and an old 170+mW green (lost the safety plug for it) Wanted something much more visible though.

What ever you get is up to you and money available.

Be sure you get a good pair of laser safety goggles to go with it if you go with a high output laser.
