Laser Pointer Driver

Hi there. Does anyone know of a way to make a compact Laser Driver to fit into a laser pointer housing. Ive read the guilde on making one and will be building one of those shortly for testing diodes but the size isnt practicle for a handheld laser. I want to make my own since importing lasers into Australia is illegal now. Also has any aussie successfully imported a laser pointer housing since the ban?

I would suggest you look at Rkcstr's Micro-Drive and DrLava's Flexdrive. The amount of hassle you would need to go through to make your own would cost far more than getting a pre-made one.
